My name is Carly Braun and I am running for West Virginia State Senate, District 13!

I was born in Weirton, West Virginia, which is a place that most people have never heard of. During my high school years, I worked at a fast food restaurant. At the time I started working, I was 15 years old.

Along with the values that my parents instilled in me, having my own job and a paycheck that I earned every two weeks, really made me appreciate the value of a dollar.

After I graduated from high school I went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice while working two full time jobs. In 2016, I began the journey to earn a Master’s degree in psychology. During that time of working on my Master’s degree, I was honored to be a federal law enforcement officer from 2015-2019. I took another career path in 2019, but those years that I wore a badge, gave me invaluable knowledge on how fast simple situations can turn bad in a fraction of a second.

Unfortunately, in late 2021, I was forced into resigning my position at the FBI due to the Biden Administration’s COVID mandates. No one should ever be forced into giving up their basic civil liberties.

I am a religious person that holds conservative views and who loves the country that has given me the opportunity to be successful.

The United States of America is the greatest country on earth and I am blessed that I was born in this wonderful country. Hard work and gratitude are two things that have seemed to gone by the wayside. In the near future, I hope that hard work comes back into fashion.

There is a saying I wish people would keep in mind, “it is hard to be hateful when you’re grateful”. I truly believe that statement, if you wake up every morning and are thankful to be here, you will live a happy and successful life.
